The Cookout serves up sizzling burgers, wings, and fries from its small-but-mighty menu in Monroe, Louisiana. This locally owned restaurant opened in 2016, and currently boasts a loyal following from its early days as a popular food truck. With owner Jamaro Hill at the helm, The Cookout feeds the soul of its community with a fresh and flavorful take on casual, American cuisine.
Hill and his team struggled to keep up with the demands of takeout. Taking orders over the phone was time-consuming and required manpower. Hill sought a better solution for his bustling business, but he determined that popular third-party services would not be worth the hefty fees that could take up to 30% of his profits.
Quickly, Hill recognized that he “needed to upgrade” and “wanted to have an app for everyone who ordered.” He was looking for a service that could easily integrate with his existing POS through Square. Since launching their app three months ago, The Cookout has made more than $42,000 from mobile orders alone. Over 1,750 users have downloaded The Cookout’s app, placing more than 2,700 orders since its launch. Looking back on his experience, Hill says “The customers love the app. Ordrslip is convenient for the customer and convenient for the restaurant.”
